The Dangberg Ranch
This is a ranch site that dates to the late 1800s. The original home site is still there, but that is surrounded by private property in the fertile Carson Valley just south of Genoa. Ideal land for cattle ranching.
Another old truck
Parked in front of what was the service station in Bodie, Ca. I bet it runs ( see late model headlights). It would be a get rig for riding in a parade. Does Bodie have a fourth of July celebration?

Another cool old truck
I like trucks. Old trucks, new trucks, big trucks, little trucks. This one is parked at Boeger Winery just outside of Placerville, Ca. Nice place. The wine was not my favorite. R and I prefer the sweeter tastes and so most wines do not appeal to us. Wine snobs, we are definitely not !
Placerville is a very nice town for spending a day. Nice downtown area. Lots of variety in the shops. I enjoyed the "Army Surplus" store. Lots of camo. Lots of military stuff.
The Hardware store is a definite "Must See". It has been there for over a hundred years. Everything from soup to nuts. It was a blast just wandering around checking things out. I asked the clerk, "How do you inventory this place?" He said, "We don't. We are grandfathered by the state." It's a good thing because it would take days, or weeks, or ........ A place to check out when you a there. Many antique shops as well.

Good morning
I woke up early today. 4:50 I wanted to print my statements from the bank and American Express. To get online here at Tahoe you have to beat the herd. Trying later on is sloooow at best and not worth the effort so you go into town to make calls or get up early to get on the computer.
Today is the day my new Costco card is active. The old American Express card is not. Imagine the shock to Amex today. I bet the guy responsible for that account loss is now selling used cars somewhere. It downloaded my bank information, but getting unto Amex's site did not happen. "This page is not responding. Try again later." Yah right!!

Rhodies
Rhodies blooming out the back window of the Pope house. They seem to do well even though they are covered in snow in the winter.

Bodie
A day trip to the old mining town of Bodie, located 15 miles east of Hwy 395 a few miles south of Bridgeport, Ca. Lots of vacant buildings. Lots of photo opportunities.

Got it running
1931 Yellow 1931 Model A One of the vehicles that are parked here at Tallac. It has been stored all winter in a barn here on the site. First Session is the time to get this and the other vehicles out of storage and parked in front of the Baldwin House.
Getting it started was interesting. David and I pushed it out of the barn. David Googled how to start a Model A. We went through the ten steps several times. After several attempts we towed it with one of the Gem Cars ( electric vehicle) to it's parking place. There the attempt continued.
Fuel in tank? Yes
Water in radiator? Yes
Spark Plug "wires" ok? (They are actually copper metal strips)
Coil Wire? OK
Getting Spark? OK
Loose wire connection? Ta Da !!
The Ten steps worked like a charm ! We drove it around for a short time and returned it to it's parking place and erected the canopy over it.
