St George, Utah
It's 7:30 MDT Monday morning 4/28/14. I'm sitting at the table looking out at St George, Ut. Southwest Utah has a lot of beautiful places. This particular spot is not onw of them. I guess I am spoiled by having been out in the boondocks. The days since we left ORPI has been in the city.
Three nights in Yuma, a half mile from I-8. Got our teeth taken care of in Algodones. Yippee!!
Of course it took an extra day to get R's bridge fixed. Our departure from Yuma was delayed by weather. A front came through causing high winds and blowing dust so we decidied it was safer to stay put and make the trip here in one day. So we watched a movie or two and went out for Thai.
Left Yuma and 7am and arrived in St George 8 1/2 hrs later (4:30 MDT). It was a pleasant trip. Travel through Vegas was helped because it was Sunday. The freeway is good. Much of the city is visable as you travel thru. It gets a little tricky if you need to exit for fuel or food, especially with the rig.
The drive north from Vegas is fine, but gets really pretty when you enter the Virgin River Gorge where the road winds through a narrow canyon with colorful rock formations. It made me wish that I was not driving so that I had more time to look.
We found the RV park without trouble. It is in town. I -15 is to the east and a busy street with a shopping center and office buildings to the west so it is not quiet, but it will be fine. It is a chance to explore this area and meet new friends. Lots of country to explore while we are here.

Visitor
This morning I was about to step down from my trailer and cary a load of laundry over to the Sanora Building. This guy was snuggled around the edge of the wooden step that I have below the door. Luckily I looked before I stepped. He coiled when I opened the screen door but relaxed and moved off when he felt safe.
